The Department of Education was started in the college in 1986. The department offers the syllabus prescribed by the university. Curricular activities like tests, assignments and exams have been conducted in accordance with rules and regulations of the Davanagere University to which the college is affiliated.

Education is a living and dynamic process of transforming an individual. The teacher and the child are involved in this bipolar process of Education. The Department of Education helps to develop broader perspective in the sense of general knowledge among the students rather than narrow based learning. It includes different types of knowledge that is- Philosophical Foundations of Education, Sociological Foundations of Education, Development of  Education in India, Education & Human Resource Development, Psychological Foundations of Education , Educational Technology ,  Education for Peace and Harmony,  Life skill Education. Psychological foundations of Education Educational research inclusive Education, Education for Social concerns. In this way it helps to develop the all round development of the personality of the students. 

The Department aims to develop students ideologically, naturalistic and pragmatics in their outlook.
