To encourage the students to render the service for the society, our Institution got permission from the university and started the N.S.S. unit in 1985. Initially there were 50 Volunteers. As the number of students increased, the Kuvempu University permitted to start Second Unit in the academic year 2000-2001. At present, our college has two Units with the strength of 200 students. The N.S.S. has conducted many programs in Planting the saplings, eradication of plastic and many awareness programs and guest lecturers, Besides it has also organized health programs like blood group check up, blood donation camps, Eye test camps. The N.S.S. Volunteers also serve as Volunteers in other health check up programs organized by local organizations. In addition to this “Shramadhan” has been conducting in the campus and off the Campus. Since the beginning of the N.S.S. It has been conducting 7 days annual camp in most backward places of the taluk.

In a place like Jagalur, the taluk center there is a much demand for blood, but there is no proper facility for storage of blood bank. So our N.S.S. has taken up an initiative to educate the students make them understand their social responsibility to respond to the social causes donate the blood on regular intervals.
